10 DAYS RAJASTHAN HERITAGE & WILDLIFE TOUR:
Tigers of Ranthambore & Leopards of Jawai
Two of India's great cats, one trip: Ranthambore's tigers and Jawai's leopards, either side of Udaipur's lakes and a heritage start in Delhi or Jaipur. 10 days, 9 safaris included.
10 Days Rajasthan Heritage & Wildlife Tour: Tigers of Ranthambore & Leopards of Jawai
Most wildlife trips to India end at a single park. This one gives you two of the country’s most compelling big cat experiences, in the same ten days. In Ranthambore, jeeps go quiet and cameras wait as guides read pug marks and alarm calls, chasing a glimpse of a tiger that may or may not appear — the oldest, most honest kind of luck in travel. In Jawai, the story flips entirely: leopards move openly across granite hills where shepherd communities have lived alongside them for generations, neither troubling the other. Two very different relationships between people and predators, either side of a week of Rajasthan’s forts, lakes and palaces.

Granite Hills & Jawai Leopards

Amber Fort & Heritage
Imperial UNESCO forts, Hawa Mahal, & private AC transfers.
Why This Route Is Different
A standard Rajasthan tour includes one wildlife stop, if any. This route builds the entire trip around two very different big cat experiences, with heritage sightseeing woven around them rather than the other way round.
- Jawai - open granite hills where leopards live alongside local Rabari shepherd communities, who have coexisted with them peacefully for generations, without fences or the distance of a typical reserve
- Ranthambore - one of India's most storied tiger reserves, where jungle drives follow real, live tracking through pug marks and alarm calls, not a fixed sightseeing route
- Udaipur - the City of Lakes, a calm, romantic middle chapter between two wildlife-intensive stays
None of these are add-ons bolted onto a heritage tour. Nine safaris are built into this itinerary — three at Jawai, three at Ranthambore — alongside real time to properly experience Rajasthan’s forts, palaces and lakes in between.
Your 10-Day Journey, Day by Day
Arrive in Delhi or Jaipur, whichever suits your international flight, and settle into your hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight in your arrival city (night 1 of 2).
A full day of sightseeing in your arrival city — in Jaipur, Amber Fort, the City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar; in Delhi, the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun’s Tomb and India Gate. Overnight in your arrival city (night 2 of 2).
Drive to Jawai (approx. 5-6 hours from Jaipur, longer from Delhi), arriving in time to check in and head straight out for your first leopard safari across the granite hills. Overnight at Jawai (night 1 of 2), full board.
A full day at Jawai, with a morning and an evening safari across the rocky terrain — your second and third included safaris. Between drives, learn about the local Rabari shepherd communities who have shared this landscape with leopards for generations, without conflict. Overnight at Jawai (night 2 of 2), full board.
A short, easy drive to Udaipur (approx. 2.5-3 hours). Check in to your hotel, with the afternoon free to explore Lake Pichola or simply rest after two wildlife-intensive days. Overnight in Udaipur (night 1 of 2).
A day in Udaipur, often called the most romantic city in India: the City Palace complex, the intricately carved Jagdish Temple, and time on or around Lake Pichola. Overnight in Udaipur (night 2 of 2).
A long drive to Ranthambore (approx. 6-7 hours), broken up with stops along the way. Check in and settle in for the evening — your first safari begins the following morning. Overnight at Ranthambore (night 1 of 3), full board.
A morning and an afternoon safari — your first and second included tiger safaris — through Ranthambore’s forest and lake landscapes, watching for tigers, leopards, deer and the park’s rich birdlife. Overnight at Ranthambore (night 2 of 3), full board.
A final morning safari — your third included tiger safari — for the best possible chance of a sighting. In the afternoon, visit Ranthambore Fort, inside the reserve itself, before an evening at leisure. Overnight at Ranthambore (night 3 of 3), full board.
A private drive back to Jaipur (approx. 3.5-4 hours) or Delhi (approx. 6-7 hours), with drop-off at your hotel or the airport, timed to your onward travel.
Practical note: Ranthambore National Park is closed to safaris during the monsoon, roughly July to September. If your dates fall in this window, we’ll discuss adjusting the itinerary with you before booking.
Before You Travel - Important Notes
- No safari operator can guarantee a tiger or leopard sighting — these are wild animals in open landscapes, not a zoo, and that unpredictability is part of the experience
- Ranthambore safaris run by private Jeep or Sharing Canter, whichever is available for your dates through the park's permit system — we confirm which applies at the time of booking
- Jawai safaris use open 4x4 vehicles over rocky terrain — comfortable, sturdy footwear and layered clothing are recommended, as early mornings can be cold
- The Udaipur to Ranthambore drive on Day 7 is the longest of the trip — comfortable clothing and regular stops are built into the schedule
- Safari timings shift with the season — your exact daily schedule is confirmed closer to your travel dates

Dream Day Tours Golden Triangle and Tiger Safari Tour is definitely worth booking! Review of Dream Day Tours - Golden Triangle plus Tiger Safari Tour This past June my wife and I traveled to India with one of my wife’s colleagues to visit her husband’s hometown in Assam, India. It was great seeing a part of India from the perspective of a family that lived there, but since this was my wife’s first time to India, we decided to book a tour to show her some other beautiful sites. And so, we booked a lovely tour through Dream Day Tours, which is based in Jaipur. It was called the Golden Triangle Tour with Tiger Safari. It was just the two of us on the tour, so Dream Day Tours catered everything to our needs and desires. To begin, we flew into Delhi and Dream Day arranged for a driver to bring us from the airport to the Welcomehotel by ITC in Dwarka. Excellent hotel with very good food. The next day, we started our tour with the driver that was assigned to us, Jeetu Singh. Jeetu was great and transported us to our various destinations for the entire tour. We were also provided with a local guide for Delhi, Aarif Sheikh. Aarif was an excellent guide. He gave us a lot of historical and cultural information and took us to Jama Masjid, which was a spectacular mosque built in the time of the Mughals in the 1600’s, and still used for prayer today. We also got a bicycle rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, which is a lively and colorful market nearby. We were also taken to a grand Sikh Temple and learned of the generosity of the Sikh’s to their pilgrims and temple visitors. We appreciated the visits to the monuments and museums that were made around the life and death of Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi. The next morning Jeetu brought us to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. We were met there by our guide Vipin. The Taj is spectacular, and basically was the only site we visited in Agra. Vipin brought us to various places to see the Taj under different views and at sunrise and sunset. We had total access to the Taj and its grounds, and Vipin, an amateur photographer took many beautiful and romantic photos of us with the Taj as a background. In fact, he took such a beautiful photo of us that we both use it as our most recent FB profile page. He definitely has talent as a photographer! On our way from Agra to Jaipur, Jeetu had us visit Fatehpur Sikri, which was the capital of the Mughal empire under Emperor Akbar in the 1500’s. This was certainly worth the visit. And we also stopped at a step well, which was a structure that was used historically to provide water to the inhabitants of the area. It was really different, fascinating, and ingenious! In Jaipur, the Pink City, we were again provided with a guide that was very versed in Indian culture and history, Mr. Raghuveer. He immediately brought us the Hawa Mahal, or Wind Palace, which is an incredibly beautiful structure overlooking a large busy square. We were again brought there by the Dream Day Tours owner, Ashfaq, in the evening, to see its beauty at night. Phenomenal! We had stressed that, besides seeing traditional tourist sites, we wanted to get an experience that showed us some of what really goes on in Jaipur streets, so Mr. Raghuveer took us to the flower market, where we were showered with flowers. This seemed especially appropriate for us since we had just celebrated our 40th anniversary. It was wild, and the flowers were beautiful, and an Indian friend of ours said it was like we were getting married! Then we visited the extraordinarily ornate and expansive Amber Fort, which was built in the 1500s by a Hindu Raj that had a political alliance with the Muslim Moghul Emperor Akbar. Beyond beautiful! Didn’t think that could be topped, but then we were brought to the City Palace, which was unbelievable in its majesty! Other things that made the trip a super experience were seeing a real snake charmer and having a hands-on interaction with an elephant, which was very weird, very exciting, and a little unnerving! We were definitely in India, far from home! And since we were so far, my wife wanted to go on a tiger safari, which we did at the Ranthambore National Park. We were lucky enough to spot some tigers in their natural environment, and we also saw other wildlife like bears, crocodiles, wild boars, a slew of peacocks and peahens, and other big birds and wildlife! It was all good, and Ashfaq at Dream Day Tours made it all possible for us by coordinating our itinerary, providing us with excellent guides, great hotels (with dinners and breakfasts included most days), and providing us with our beloved driver, Jeetu, who got us to every site and more, and then to the airport in ample time to catch our flight home! Thank you, Dream Day Tours!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

❤️Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Better than we could have imagined! This was the most well organised trip we could have asked for! Ashfaq and the team couldn't have done more to make the trip better - hotel was stunning, lifts to and from Safari on time (and aircon!) and the best Safari, 2 groups and 1 private ( we saw 7 Tigers). This was a trip tailored to us, made very special! Highly recommend Dream Day Tours if you want the best trip of a life time at a great price!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Good Experience We had a great experience. My friend and I booked the trip just two weeks before arriving in India, and they responded quickly and made everything possible. We shared what we wanted to see, and they created a plan around it. We also had a fantastic driver who was very kind and always made sure we had everything we needed, including water, soda, and beer.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Saw Tigers and Crocodiles! We did 3 safaris, on the first two we saw lots of wildlife including monkeys, deer, hyenas, peacocks and other birds, but no tigers… And then on the third, we were lucky enough to see on four separate occasions a tiger casually strolling through its natural habitat. We got close enough to take good photos and one even walked straight past the Jeep! We also saw a couple of crocodiles by the lake which topped it off. Very enjoyable experience!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Ranthambore and Jawai safaris?
Ranthambore is a national park, and safaris track wild tigers across a large forest and lake reserve. Jawai is open granite hill country, where leopards live much closer to local villages, often giving a different, and sometimes closer, kind of sighting than a traditional park.
Is a tiger or leopard sighting guaranteed?
No responsible operator can guarantee this — these are wild animals, not a zoo. Nine safaris across this trip give you the best possible chance, and our guides at both locations know the terrain intimately.
Is it really true that leopards live near people in Jawai without conflict?
Yes. The Rabari shepherd communities around Jawai have lived alongside leopards for generations, and the animals are traditionally respected rather than feared — some are even considered sacred locally. Attacks on people are extremely rare, which is exactly what makes this landscape so unusual to experience.
Should we start in Delhi or Jaipur?
Either works well. Delhi generally offers more international flight options; Jaipur gives you a shorter first transfer to Jawai. Let us know your flight plans and we’ll advise on the better fit.
Will we get a private Jeep at Ranthambore, or a Sharing Canter?
It depends on availability through the park’s permit system for your dates. A Jeep is a smaller vehicle; a Canter is a larger, shared open vehicle. We confirm which applies to your booking at the time of enquiry.
Is the drive from Udaipur to Ranthambore very long?
Yes — it’s the longest drive of the trip, around 6-7 hours. We break it up with stops along the way, and can discuss alternatives if you’d prefer a shorter travel day.
What meals are included?
Full board — breakfast, lunch and dinner — at Jawai and Ranthambore, since both are wildlife camps away from town. In Delhi or Jaipur and in Udaipur, breakfast and dinner are included, with lunch left free for you to explore local restaurants.
What's the best time of year for this tour?
October to March offers the most comfortable temperatures. Ranthambore National Park is closed to safaris during the monsoon, roughly July to September, so this route isn’t available in that window.
Is this a private tour, or will we be grouped with other travelers?
Fully private for the road journey and heritage sightseeing. Ranthambore safaris may run as a Sharing Canter depending on availability, as noted above; Jawai safaris are private throughout.
What should we wear on safari?
Neutral, muted colors, closed shoes, and layers — early mornings can be cold, especially at Jawai’s higher, exposed terrain, even though afternoons warm up quickly.
Can this itinerary be shortened or reordered?
Yes. Ranthambore or Jawai can each be adjusted by a night, or Udaipur can be shortened for a more wildlife-focused trip — let us know your priorities and available days.
What payment methods do you accept?
International card, bank transfer, or Revolut — you’ll receive a formal invoice under our registered business name, so there’s no need to carry cash for the full amount.
Is airport pickup and drop-off included?
Yes — our representative meets you on arrival in Delhi or Jaipur, and you’re dropped at your hotel or the airport in Jaipur or Delhi at the end of the tour.
