Why This Route Is Different

A standard Golden Triangle tour covers Delhi, Agra and Jaipur only, and usually leaves the longest driving stretch of a wider itinerary entirely to you. This route adds one of India’s most moving cities, then removes the worst of the driving with a flight built into the price.

None of this is a token add-on. Amritsar gets two full nights, not a rushed day trip, and the included flight is a genuine, priced-in part of the package — not an optional extra you discover you need once you’ve already booked.

Your 7-Day Journey, Day by Day

Day 1 Delhi: Arrival

Arrive in Delhi and settle into your hotel. If time allows, an easing-in visit to India Gate or a walk through a local market. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 Delhi to Amritsar: The Long Road North

A private drive to Amritsar (approx. 8-9 hours). It’s a long day, broken up with stops along the way — or, if you’d prefer to fly this leg instead, let us know when you book (see “About the included flight” below). Evening arrival, with time for the Golden Temple lit up at night if energy allows. Overnight in Amritsar (night 1 of 2).

Day 3 Amritsar: The Golden Temple & the Wagah Border

An early morning visit to the Golden Temple, at its most beautiful and least crowded before the day’s crowds arrive, followed by the Jallianwala Bagh memorial and the Partition Museum. In the late afternoon, head to the Wagah Border for the daily retreat ceremony — arrive early for a good spot. Overnight in Amritsar (night 2 of 2).

Day 4 Amritsar to Jaipur: Your Included Flight

Transfer to Amritsar airport for your included one-way flight to Jaipur (the default routing for this itinerary, since a direct drive between the two cities is too long for a single day). Afternoon arrival and check-in, with the evening free. Overnight in Jaipur (night 1 of 2).

Day 5 Jaipur: The Pink City's Royal Heritage

A full day in Jaipur: Amber Fort, the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and the astronomical instruments of Jantar Mantar. In the evening, shop the bazaars for gemstones, block-printed textiles and traditional jewelry. Overnight in Jaipur (night 2 of 2).

Day 6 Jaipur to Agra, via Fatehpur Sikri

Drive to Agra (approx. 5-6 hours), stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned Mughal capital, along the way. In the afternoon, visit Agra Fort, and watch the sunset over the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh, across the river. Overnight in Agra.

Day 7 Sunrise at the Taj Mahal & Return to Delhi

An early entry to the Taj Mahal itself at sunrise, when the light is softest and the crowds are thinnest. Breakfast afterward, then a private drive back to Delhi (approx. 3.5-4 hours), with drop-off at your hotel or the airport.

About the included flight: this package includes one one-way domestic flight — by default, Amritsar to Jaipur, since driving that route directly in a day isn’t practical. If you’d prefer to fly Delhi to Amritsar instead and drive the Amritsar-Jaipur leg, this can be arranged, but that direct drive is very long and we’d recommend adding an extra night to break up the journey. The included flight applies when this tour is booked at least 3 months before travel; booking closer to your dates, we can still try to arrange it, but availability and fare are not guaranteed, and an additional cost may apply.

Dream Day Tours Golden Triangle and Tiger Safari Tour is definitely worth booking! Review of Dream Day Tours - Golden Triangle plus Tiger Safari Tour This past June my wife and I traveled to India with one of my wife’s colleagues to visit her husband’s hometown in Assam, India. It was great seeing a part of India from the perspective of a family that lived there, but since this was my wife’s first time to India, we decided to book a tour to show her some other beautiful sites. And so, we booked a lovely tour through Dream Day Tours, which is based in Jaipur. It was called the Golden Triangle Tour with Tiger Safari. It was just the two of us on the tour, so Dream Day Tours catered everything to our needs and desires. To begin, we flew into Delhi and Dream Day arranged for a driver to bring us from the airport to the Welcomehotel by ITC in Dwarka. Excellent hotel with very good food. The next day, we started our tour with the driver that was assigned to us, Jeetu Singh. Jeetu was great and transported us to our various destinations for the entire tour. We were also provided with a local guide for Delhi, Aarif Sheikh. Aarif was an excellent guide. He gave us a lot of historical and cultural information and took us to Jama Masjid, which was a spectacular mosque built in the time of the Mughals in the 1600’s, and still used for prayer today. We also got a bicycle rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, which is a lively and colorful market nearby. We were also taken to a grand Sikh Temple and learned of the generosity of the Sikh’s to their pilgrims and temple visitors. We appreciated the visits to the monuments and museums that were made around the life and death of Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi. The next morning Jeetu brought us to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. We were met there by our guide Vipin. The Taj is spectacular, and basically was the only site we visited in Agra. Vipin brought us to various places to see the Taj under different views and at sunrise and sunset. We had total access to the Taj and its grounds, and Vipin, an amateur photographer took many beautiful and romantic photos of us with the Taj as a background. In fact, he took such a beautiful photo of us that we both use it as our most recent FB profile page. He definitely has talent as a photographer! On our way from Agra to Jaipur, Jeetu had us visit Fatehpur Sikri, which was the capital of the Mughal empire under Emperor Akbar in the 1500’s. This was certainly worth the visit. And we also stopped at a step well, which was a structure that was used historically to provide water to the inhabitants of the area. It was really different, fascinating, and ingenious! In Jaipur, the Pink City, we were again provided with a guide that was very versed in Indian culture and history, Mr. Raghuveer. He immediately brought us the Hawa Mahal, or Wind Palace, which is an incredibly beautiful structure overlooking a large busy square. We were again brought there by the Dream Day Tours owner, Ashfaq, in the evening, to see its beauty at night. Phenomenal! We had stressed that, besides seeing traditional tourist sites, we wanted to get an experience that showed us some of what really goes on in Jaipur streets, so Mr. Raghuveer took us to the flower market, where we were showered with flowers. This seemed especially appropriate for us since we had just celebrated our 40th anniversary. It was wild, and the flowers were beautiful, and an Indian friend of ours said it was like we were getting married! Then we visited the extraordinarily ornate and expansive Amber Fort, which was built in the 1500s by a Hindu Raj that had a political alliance with the Muslim Moghul Emperor Akbar. Beyond beautiful! Didn’t think that could be topped, but then we were brought to the City Palace, which was unbelievable in its majesty! Other things that made the trip a super experience were seeing a real snake charmer and having a hands-on interaction with an elephant, which was very weird, very exciting, and a little unnerving! We were definitely in India, far from home! And since we were so far, my wife wanted to go on a tiger safari, which we did at the Ranthambore National Park. We were lucky enough to spot some tigers in their natural environment, and we also saw other wildlife like bears, crocodiles, wild boars, a slew of peacocks and peahens, and other big birds and wildlife! It was all good, and Ashfaq at Dream Day Tours made it all possible for us by coordinating our itinerary, providing us with excellent guides, great hotels (with dinners and breakfasts included most days), and providing us with our beloved driver, Jeetu, who got us to every site and more, and then to the airport in ample time to catch our flight home! Thank you, Dream Day Tours!

Better than we could have imagined! This was the most well organised trip we could have asked for! Ashfaq and the team couldn't have done more to make the trip better - hotel was stunning, lifts to and from Safari on time (and aircon!) and the best Safari, 2 groups and 1 private ( we saw 7 Tigers). This was a trip tailored to us, made very special! Highly recommend Dream Day Tours if you want the best trip of a life time at a great price!

Good Experience We had a great experience. My friend and I booked the trip just two weeks before arriving in India, and they responded quickly and made everything possible. We shared what we wanted to see, and they created a plan around it. We also had a fantastic driver who was very kind and always made sure we had everything we needed, including water, soda, and beer.

Saw Tigers and Crocodiles! We did 3 safaris, on the first two we saw lots of wildlife including monkeys, deer, hyenas, peacocks and other birds, but no tigers… And then on the third, we were lucky enough to see on four separate occasions a tiger casually strolling through its natural habitat. We got close enough to take good photos and one even walked straight past the Jeep! We also saw a couple of crocodiles by the lake which topped it off. Very enjoyable experience!

Frequently Asked Questions

Which flight is included — Delhi to Amritsar, or Amritsar to Jaipur?

By default, Amritsar to Jaipur, since that’s the leg that’s impractical to drive in a single day. If you’d prefer to fly Delhi to Amritsar instead, let us know when you book — we’ll then route the Amritsar-Jaipur leg by road with an extra night added, since that direct drive is very long.

What happens if we book less than 3 months before travel?

The included flight is guaranteed when this tour is booked at least 3 months ahead. Booking closer to your travel dates, we can still try to arrange the flight, but availability and fare aren’t guaranteed, and an additional cost may apply — we’ll always confirm this with you before you pay.

Can we upgrade and fly both long legs instead of just one?

Yes — this can be arranged as a paid upgrade. Let us know when you enquire and we’ll quote the difference.

What is the Wagah Border ceremony?

A daily retreat ceremony at the India-Pakistan border near Amritsar, with elaborate marching, drumming and crowd energy on both sides of the gate as the flags are lowered for the evening. It’s one of the most talked-about experiences on this route.

Do we need to cover our heads at the Golden Temple?

Yes — both men and women must cover their heads inside the complex. Free scarves are provided at the entrance if you don’t bring your own, and shoes must be removed before entering.

Is the drive between Amritsar and Jaipur very long if we don't fly it?

Yes — over 12 hours, which is why it’s the default flight leg on this itinerary. We wouldn’t recommend driving this stretch in a single day.

What's the best time of year for this route?

October to March offers the most comfortable temperatures across Delhi, Amritsar, Jaipur and Agra.

Is this a private tour, or will we be grouped with other travelers?

Fully private. Your vehicle, driver, and guide are exclusively yours for all 7 days; the included flight is a standard scheduled commercial flight, not a private charter.

Is the Taj Mahal open every day?

No, it’s closed on Fridays. If your dates fall on a Friday, we’ll adjust the itinerary sequence so you don’t miss it.

Can this itinerary be shortened or reordered?

Yes. Amritsar can be reduced to one night if time is tight, or Agra and Jaipur can be reordered — let us know your priorities and available days.

What payment methods do you accept?

International card, bank transfer, or Revolut — you’ll receive a formal invoice under our registered business name, so there’s no need to carry cash for the full amount.

Is airport pickup and drop-off included?

Yes — our representative meets you at Delhi airport on arrival, assists with your internal flight connection, and drops you at your hotel or the airport in Delhi at the end of the tour.
