Golden Triangle Tour with Diwali Festival
Celebrate Diwali in the Land of Kings: a 6-day Golden Triangle tour through Delhi, Agra & Jaipur, with a heritage palace celebration or an intimate Indian family Diwali night.
Golden Triangle Tour with Diwali Festival
Diwali is the one night in India even seasoned travelers describe differently once they’ve stood inside it themselves — not fireworks watched from a hotel balcony, but a lamp lit with your own hands, or a family’s home opened to you as a genuine guest. This tour is built around giving you that choice, not just a seat at the celebration.
The Night International Travelers Wait All Year For — Diwali in the Land of Kings
Ask any international traveler who has experienced Diwali in India, and they won’t describe it as “a festival.” They’ll tell you it’s a feeling — an entire country lighting itself up at once, millions of small clay lamps flickering along rooftops and windowsills, fireworks scattering color across the sky, and complete strangers wishing you well simply because it’s Diwali. For many travelers abroad, this is the single moment they plan their entire India trip around — and there is nowhere quite like Rajasthan to experience it.
This 6-day Golden Triangle Tour with Diwali Festival takes you through Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur — India’s most iconic circuit — and delivers you straight into the heart of the celebration in the Pink City. Jaipur during Diwali is a different city entirely: forts and palaces strung with thousands of lights, markets overflowing with diyas, sweets, and marigolds, and an energy in the streets that no ordinary sightseeing day can match.
What makes this experience truly outstanding — and something our team takes real pride in arranging — is choosing how you celebrate it. Spend the night at a heritage palace resort lit up in full Diwali splendor, with fireworks over centuries-old ramparts, and it’s simply unforgettable. Or celebrate the more intimate way — inside the home of an Indian family, lighting diyas together, sharing a home-cooked festive meal, and being welcomed in not as a tourist, but as a guest. Both are extraordinary in completely different ways, and our team is here to help you choose, and arrange, whichever speaks to you.
Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday, 8th November (Lakshmi Puja), with the full five-day festival running from Friday, 6th November to Tuesday, 10th November. For travelers extending toward Varanasi, Dev Deepawali — the spectacular Ganges lamp-lighting festival — falls on Tuesday, 24th November 2026.
Overview
The Golden Triangle Tour with Diwali Festival combines India’s three most iconic destinations — Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur — with the light and joy of Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Spanning six days, this is the ideal way to experience North India’s heritage while celebrating one of its most cherished traditions.
From the majestic Taj Mahal at sunrise to the bustling bazaars of Old Delhi and the regal forts of Jaipur, every day builds toward the night the whole country waits for — when streets and homes glow with diyas, fireworks light the sky, and families come together as one.

Either way, this is a night you’ll carry with you long after you’ve left India. Overnight in Jaipur.

Dream Day Tours Golden Triangle and Tiger Safari Tour is definitely worth booking! Review of Dream Day Tours - Golden Triangle plus Tiger Safari Tour This past June my wife and I traveled to India with one of my wife’s colleagues to visit her husband’s hometown in Assam, India. It was great seeing a part of India from the perspective of a family that lived there, but since this was my wife’s first time to India, we decided to book a tour to show her some other beautiful sites. And so, we booked a lovely tour through Dream Day Tours, which is based in Jaipur. It was called the Golden Triangle Tour with Tiger Safari. It was just the two of us on the tour, so Dream Day Tours catered everything to our needs and desires. To begin, we flew into Delhi and Dream Day arranged for a driver to bring us from the airport to the Welcomehotel by ITC in Dwarka. Excellent hotel with very good food. The next day, we started our tour with the driver that was assigned to us, Jeetu Singh. Jeetu was great and transported us to our various destinations for the entire tour. We were also provided with a local guide for Delhi, Aarif Sheikh. Aarif was an excellent guide. He gave us a lot of historical and cultural information and took us to Jama Masjid, which was a spectacular mosque built in the time of the Mughals in the 1600’s, and still used for prayer today. We also got a bicycle rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, which is a lively and colorful market nearby. We were also taken to a grand Sikh Temple and learned of the generosity of the Sikh’s to their pilgrims and temple visitors. We appreciated the visits to the monuments and museums that were made around the life and death of Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi. The next morning Jeetu brought us to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. We were met there by our guide Vipin. The Taj is spectacular, and basically was the only site we visited in Agra. Vipin brought us to various places to see the Taj under different views and at sunrise and sunset. We had total access to the Taj and its grounds, and Vipin, an amateur photographer took many beautiful and romantic photos of us with the Taj as a background. In fact, he took such a beautiful photo of us that we both use it as our most recent FB profile page. He definitely has talent as a photographer! On our way from Agra to Jaipur, Jeetu had us visit Fatehpur Sikri, which was the capital of the Mughal empire under Emperor Akbar in the 1500’s. This was certainly worth the visit. And we also stopped at a step well, which was a structure that was used historically to provide water to the inhabitants of the area. It was really different, fascinating, and ingenious! In Jaipur, the Pink City, we were again provided with a guide that was very versed in Indian culture and history, Mr. Raghuveer. He immediately brought us the Hawa Mahal, or Wind Palace, which is an incredibly beautiful structure overlooking a large busy square. We were again brought there by the Dream Day Tours owner, Ashfaq, in the evening, to see its beauty at night. Phenomenal! We had stressed that, besides seeing traditional tourist sites, we wanted to get an experience that showed us some of what really goes on in Jaipur streets, so Mr. Raghuveer took us to the flower market, where we were showered with flowers. This seemed especially appropriate for us since we had just celebrated our 40th anniversary. It was wild, and the flowers were beautiful, and an Indian friend of ours said it was like we were getting married! Then we visited the extraordinarily ornate and expansive Amber Fort, which was built in the 1500s by a Hindu Raj that had a political alliance with the Muslim Moghul Emperor Akbar. Beyond beautiful! Didn’t think that could be topped, but then we were brought to the City Palace, which was unbelievable in its majesty! Other things that made the trip a super experience were seeing a real snake charmer and having a hands-on interaction with an elephant, which was very weird, very exciting, and a little unnerving! We were definitely in India, far from home! And since we were so far, my wife wanted to go on a tiger safari, which we did at the Ranthambore National Park. We were lucky enough to spot some tigers in their natural environment, and we also saw other wildlife like bears, crocodiles, wild boars, a slew of peacocks and peahens, and other big birds and wildlife! It was all good, and Ashfaq at Dream Day Tours made it all possible for us by coordinating our itinerary, providing us with excellent guides, great hotels (with dinners and breakfasts included most days), and providing us with our beloved driver, Jeetu, who got us to every site and more, and then to the airport in ample time to catch our flight home! Thank you, Dream Day Tours!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

❤️Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Better than we could have imagined! This was the most well organised trip we could have asked for! Ashfaq and the team couldn't have done more to make the trip better - hotel was stunning, lifts to and from Safari on time (and aircon!) and the best Safari, 2 groups and 1 private ( we saw 7 Tigers). This was a trip tailored to us, made very special! Highly recommend Dream Day Tours if you want the best trip of a life time at a great price!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Good Experience We had a great experience. My friend and I booked the trip just two weeks before arriving in India, and they responded quickly and made everything possible. We shared what we wanted to see, and they created a plan around it. We also had a fantastic driver who was very kind and always made sure we had everything we needed, including water, soda, and beer.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Saw Tigers and Crocodiles! We did 3 safaris, on the first two we saw lots of wildlife including monkeys, deer, hyenas, peacocks and other birds, but no tigers… And then on the third, we were lucky enough to see on four separate occasions a tiger casually strolling through its natural habitat. We got close enough to take good photos and one even walked straight past the Jeep! We also saw a couple of crocodiles by the lake which topped it off. Very enjoyable experience!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Frequently Asked Questions
When is Diwali in 2026?
Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday, 8th November (Lakshmi Puja, the main celebration night), with the full five-day festival running from Friday, 6th November to Tuesday, 10th November.
What's the difference between celebrating Diwali at a heritage resort versus with an Indian family?
A heritage resort gives you a grand, cinematic Diwali — palace architecture lit up, fireworks over historic ramparts, and a five-star celebration atmosphere. Celebrating with an Indian family is more intimate and personal — lighting diyas together, sharing a home-cooked festive meal, and experiencing the traditions the way local households actually observe them. Both are unforgettable in very different ways, and we’re happy to help you decide which fits your trip.
Is it possible to also experience Dev Deepawali in Varanasi?
Yes — Dev Deepawali falls on 24th November 2026 in Varanasi, when thousands of lamps are lit along the Ganges ghats. This can be added as an extension to your Golden Triangle itinerary; let us know if you’d like this included.
Is Diwali very crowded for travelers?
Yes, especially in markets and around temples in the days leading up to the festival. We recommend comfortable footwear, keeping valuables secure, and allowing extra time for local travel during the festival period.
Can children take part in the Diwali celebration?
Yes — Diwali is a wonderfully family-friendly festival, and both the heritage resort and family-hosted options are suitable for children, with sparklers, sweets, and diya-lighting being highlights for younger travelers.
What is the Golden Triangle tour of India?
Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur — India’s three most visited cities — form the Golden Triangle circuit, connected by road and forming a rough triangle on the map.
Which month is best to visit the Golden Triangle in India?
October to March, during the winter season, offers the most comfortable weather for sightseeing — and this period conveniently includes both Diwali and the cooler, clearer months ideal for the Taj Mahal and Jaipur’s forts.
Is the Taj Mahal open every day?
No — it’s closed on Fridays. If your dates include one, we’ll rearrange the itinerary so you don’t miss the visit.
Can this itinerary be customized or extended?
Yes — a Ranthambore tiger safari, a Varanasi extension for Dev Deepawali, or an Udaipur addition are all popular ways to extend this tour. Let us know your interests and we’ll build a custom route.
Can the driver speak English?
Our drivers understand basic English for everyday communication, and we provide complimentary city guides in major cities. For a fluent English-speaking guide, or guides fluent in French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Russian, or German, we recommend booking in advance at a small extra cost.
Is it safe to travel to India during Diwali, especially for solo or female travelers?
Yes — India is a popular destination for solo and female travelers year-round, and Diwali is a joyful, family-oriented festival. Being fully private throughout — your own car, driver, and guide — removes much of the uncertainty of independent travel during the busy festival period.
What should I pack for a Diwali visit?
Lightweight, breathable clothing, a light layer for cool November evenings, comfortable walking shoes for crowded markets, and modest clothing (shoulders and knees covered) for temple visits. Festive attire is also very welcome if you’d like to dress for the occasion.
Do you provide travel insurance?
No, this isn’t included — we’d recommend arranging comprehensive travel insurance, including medical cover, before you depart.
How is Dream Day Tours different from booking through a general travel agent?
We’re a government-approved operator based in Jaipur, specializing in this exact route with our own on-ground concierge, private vehicles, and guides — including direct relationships with heritage properties and local families for an authentic, well-hosted Diwali celebration, rather than outsourcing to third parties.
